Access Control Systems – Safe and Smart Ways to Enter a Building

What Access Control Does for Your Business

Managed entry. Control exactly who can open which door and when. Give every employee their own credential, set schedules by role, and revoke access in seconds when someone leaves — no re-keying, no lock changes.

Entry logs for employees. Every entry is logged with name, door, and timestamp. See who came in, when, and through which door — ideal for attendance verification, HR reviews, and insurance compliance.

Door held open too long. If a door is propped or held open past a set time, the system alerts you instantly by email or SMS — so loading docks and back doors are never left unsecured.

Bluetooth unlocking from your phone. Walk up and the door unlocks with the phone still in your pocket — no card, no fob. CDVI, UniFi Access, and HID Mobile Access all support Bluetooth credentials for everyday convenience.

Data stored on a 24/7 server. All access events are recorded to a dedicated on-site server running around the clock, so your entry history is always available — even without internet.

Access Control Brands We Install & Support

Pride Security Solutions is factory-authorized to install, program, and service the following professional access control platforms — used in commercial buildings, warehouses, condominiums, schools, and healthcare facilities across Ontario.

Readers, Credentials & Door Hardware We Use

The reader at the door is what your staff, tenants, or visitors interact with every day. We source and install only proven, UL-listed hardware that balances usability, security, and durability.

CDVI KPAD — Bluetooth-ready reader + keypad

CDVI KRYPTO kit — controller, readers & mobile credentials

Card & fob reader at a commercial entry

HID Global Readers

HID is the world’s leading credential brand. We install HID iCLASS SE, OSDP-enabled multiCLASS SE, and HID Signo readers — supporting 125 kHz Prox, 13.56 MHz smart card, and mobile access from a single unit. HID readers offer bank-grade encryption and are backward-compatible with most legacy card stock.

Farpointe Data Readers

Farpointe readers (Pyramid Series, Delta Series) are built for high-traffic environments. They’re vandal-resistant, IP67-rated, and support both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz protocols. Farpointe’s Ranger long-range readers allow hands-free vehicle access up to 3 metres — ideal for parking gates and warehouse entry.

Key Fobs & Smart Cards

We supply and program HID, Kantech, and CDVI-compatible 125 kHz Prox fobs, 13.56 MHz DESFire EV3 smart cards, and Mifare Classic/Plus cards. Each credential is uniquely encoded — lost fobs are disabled in seconds from the software, with no need to change locks or cylinders.

Mobile & Biometric Access

For properties requiring higher security, we integrate biometric fingerprint readers, facial recognition units, and Apple Wallet / Google Wallet mobile credentials via BLE. Mobile access eliminates the cost of card printing and dramatically reduces the administration burden for property managers.

Your Access Data — Stored On-Site on a 24/7 Server

Every entry, exit, denied attempt, and door-held-open event is recorded to a dedicated on-site server that runs 24/7. Your logs stay on your property and are available any time — even if the internet goes down. For most installations we deploy a compact, energy-efficient Dell mini PC that fits in any network closet.

Dell OptiPlex Micro — compact 24/7 access server

Dell PowerEdge — rack servers for larger sites

exacqVision NVR — video & access on one server

Automated & Controlled Door Solutions

Access control is only as strong as the door hardware behind it. We install and integrate the full door control stack — from the reader on the wall to the locking mechanism securing the frame.

Electric door strike

Touchless request-to-exit (REX) sensor

CDVI ATRIUM access control controller

Long-range reader — automatic truck-yard gate entry

Electric strikes replace the door frame’s strike plate and release on valid credential presentation. Magnetic locks (600 lb to 1,200 lb holding force) mount at the top of the door and fail-safe in a power outage (door opens) or fail-secure (door stays locked). We advise on the correct type based on building code, fire egress requirements, and insurance specifications.
We integrate access control with automatic door operators from LCN, Dorma, and Stanley — allowing hands-free entry for card or fob holders. Common in medical clinics, pharmacies, and high-traffic office lobbies. Automatic doors are also tied into the access controller so that unauthorized activation of the door operator is logged and alerted.
For lobbies requiring strict tailgating prevention, we install optical turnstiles and speed lanes from Gunnebo and Boon Edam. Turnstiles are integrated directly to the access controller — each passage is logged by name, time, and direction.
All controlled doors require a REX device on the secure side — either a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor or a push-button — so occupants can exit freely without a credential. We size and position REX devices to meet Ontario Building Code egress requirements on every installation.
Every door we install includes a magnetic door position switch (DPS). If a door is propped open or forced, the system logs a tamper event and can trigger an alarm, notify your security team by email or SMS, or initiate a lockdown — all configurable from the software.
Unlock doors straight from your smartphone — no card or fob required. We deploy Bluetooth (BLE) and mobile-wallet credentials on CDVI, UniFi Access, and HID Mobile Access platforms: walk up, and the door unlocks with the phone still in your pocket. Credentials are issued and revoked remotely in seconds — ideal for growing teams and multi-site businesses.
Farpointe Ranger long-range readers combined with CDVI or Kantech controllers provide seamless vehicle access — including truck yards and logistics facilities, where the gate opens automatically for each authorized driver as their vehicle approaches. Every entry is logged by driver, vehicle, and time. Residents tap a fob or the system reads a windshield-mounted transponder as the vehicle approaches — the barrier lifts automatically. Visitor access is managed with camera-verified remote unlock.
We integrate access control into elevator cab controls so that restricted floors can only be reached by authorized cardholders. A resident’s fob grants access to their floor plus common areas; a contractor’s card grants access only during authorized hours. Works with most commercial elevator relay panels.
For pharmacies, evidence rooms, server cages, and high-value storage, we install electronic cabinet locks and locker access banks — all managed from the same software as your door access. Every opening is logged with user name and timestamp.
All our systems support single-button or automated lockdown — locking every controlled door on a floor or an entire building within seconds. Integrated mustering reports show which cardholders entered the building and haven’t exited, giving first responders an accurate headcount during an emergency.

Access Control Security Protocols — How It Actually Works

Understanding the technology behind your access system helps you make better decisions about your security program. Here’s a plain-English breakdown of the key protocols and concepts we configure on every installation.

ATRIUM access control software

Schedules & entry logs — managed per user

exacqVision VMS — live cameras linked to access events

CDVI K1BT — Bluetooth mobile-ready reader
